How you can help

Our current focus is to encourage local residents to give their feedback to Mansfield District Council with regards to the Local Plan and proposed sites; many of which will impact people and wildlife.

Once part of the ancient Sherwood Forest, its rolling woodlands, open fields, and nature trails are a vital sanctuary for wildlife and a cherished escape for local families. These green spaces are not only a link to the area's past but also a vital part of its identity and well-being, offering beauty, biodiversity, and balance in an ever-changing world.

The Mansfield Local Plan Review

Why it Matters!

Mansfield District Council has launched the Local Plan Review, which will guide how our area grows and develops over the next 20 years — deciding where new homes, jobs, and green spaces will be located.

Worryingly, several cherished green spaces in Mansfield Woodhouse have been earmarked for large-scale housing developments. This could permanently alter the character of our community, put increasing pressure on already struggling infrastructure, and have devastating consequences on local wildlife.

Now is our opportunity to speak up and influence these critical decisions.
